The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp 'The Idol' Scandal in Cannes

At the Cannes premiere of “The Idol” on Monday (local time), The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp, who debuted four days after her father ascended the stage at the opening screening, shut down the Croisette to demonstrate the cost of celebrity and bawdy intrigue. This is according to “Variety.”
The HBO Original series, the first TV program to formally launch in Cannes, draws clear comparisons between celebrity meltdowns like the one Britney Spears had, and it was ultimately unveiled at a jam-packed gala screening.
The first two episodes of the already contentious series were filled with revenge porn images of body fluids on Depp's face, masturbating with ice cubes, nightclub-owning con artists, and filthy Hollywood sycophants, according to 'Variety'.
According to “Variety,” the series, which was the idea of “Euphoria” writer Sam Levinson and Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye, puts poor Depp through her paces as a pop sensation recovering from a mental break after the loss of her mother.
A group of bloodsucking handlers, brilliantly represented by Jane Adams, Hank Azaria, and Eli Roth, are frantically trying to launch a new record and tour. She meets Tesfaye as a proprietor and shoulder to cry on while letting off steam at a filthy Hollywood dance club. Tesfaye eventually reveals far broader goals for her career and his bottom line. Tedros, played by Tesfaye, is a contemporary cult leader.
Suzanna Son, Troye Sivan, Dan Levy, Rachel Sennott, and other actors make up the supporting cast.
According to “Variety,” Depp's closest friend/assistant (Sennott) and advisor (Da'Vine Joy Randolph) provide only fleeting breaks from her relentless sexual and financial abuse; yet, Depp's character is a lost lamb who wants to be accepted as an artist and a woman. Tedros of Tesfaye is only too eager to intervene.
