<p>Before the 2024 Indian Premier League season begins, MS Dhoni has given Ruturaj Gaikwad the leadership of the Chennai Super Kings. Since 2019, Ruturaj has been a crucial member of the Chennai Super Kings, participating in 52 IPL games. The squad is excited about the next campaign, according to a statement from CSK.</p>
<p>In addition to meeting the captains of other teams at the pre-captains photo session, Gaikwad, a young man from Pune, will be captain for the first time during the competition.</p>
<p>Dhoni isn’t getting any younger—he will be 43 in July—and there are growing rumors that this IPL season may be his last one as a player.</p>

<p>“Thala” Dhoni had surgery in Mumbai last year, and while his availability for the IPL was questioned, he recovered and was back at his second home, Chennai’s Chepauk Stadium, lately to start getting ready for the new season.</p>
<p>Due to a knee injury, Dhoni was unable to compete in the 2023 Indian Premier League and was often seen hobbling. He had surgery in Mumbai to treat the issue as soon as the season concluded.</p>
<p>The Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings tied the Mumbai Indians for the most championships won when they won their fifth IPL championship last year.</p>
<p>Prior to this, MSD had made hints about his intention to lower the yellow drapes in a unique way. But it’s unclear what exactly he has in store.</p>
<p>In 2022, the Super Kings appointed Ravindra Jadeja as captain. However, after a string of defeats, the left-arm spinner resigned from the position halfway through the competition and returned Dhoni to command.</p>
<p>India won the 2007 T20 World Cup, the 2011 ODI World Cup, a Champions Trophy, and the ICC Test rankings for the first time under the captaincy of Dhoni, who is undoubtedly the best captain of all time.</p>
